EnviroTech Inc is a full service environmental consulting firm seeking Full-time Environmental Engineers to join our team. We are located in Stockbridge, GA, but have positions available in overseas location, providing support to the US Military.
The ideal candidate(s) will have a demonstrated high-level understanding of environmental compliance regulations with experience with the Overseas Environmental Baseline Guidance Document (OEBGD) and Army Regulations. Experience conducting environmental assessments, spill cleanup, packaging of hazardous waste and remediation of contaminated sites. Must be willing to work in Iraq, and travel to different military locations.
Must be highly motivated, client focused and desires to contribute in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment You will be providing environmental support and guidance to U.S. Military Commanders and Units at remote locations and maybe the only environmental guy on the ground, so self motivated and industrious individuals are wanted / needed to fill these positions.
You must be an independent thinker and self starters with a desire to apply your technical skills and be hands-on when needed, since you will be the environmental expert on the ground. Must be comfortable working independently and without direct supervisory oversight
This is contracted position for twelve (12) months, with renewal option periods.
Qualified applicants must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, organization, and technical report writing skills. Knowledge of federal and military regulations and the ability to present findings in a briefing format or verbally are required.
Experience working with the Military or being in service is desired.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Development of environmental master plan, developing and updating SWPP and SPCC plans, design and implementation of remediation plans, conducting Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments and hazardous materials surveys, performing environmental site investigations: including sampling, data evaluations and technical report preparation and supervising and packaging hazardous chemicals and waste as needed to meet the mission requirements.
Provide training to military personnel in the proper environmental procedures for handling hazardous waste or chemicals.
In Country Support:
The military will provide security, quarters, meals and transportation while in country.
In Country Conditions:
The hours are long, 10 hr days - 7 Days a week
Living Conditions – Austere
Hostile Environment – Desert
You will be traveling off base under Military escort.
Job Requirements:
Educational Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must possess a B. S. in Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, and/or Physical Science and have a minimum of 3 years experience in environmental consulting, technology development, project management or other relevant experience.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to wear military protective clothing and carry and lift approximately 75 lbs, be able to move a full 55 Gal Drum, and tolerate hot dry climates.
Special Medications are not available in theater, if you are required to take special medications or have any special medical conditions you can not be considered for this job.
Skill Requirements:
Must be skilled with Microsoft Office and programs to include: Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point;
Able to provide a professional military style briefing to Commander;
Provide information and training to Soldiers and Commanders with the goal of providing the tools and knowledge needed to ensure their safety and meet their environmentally related job responsibilities. This will be accomplished through training presentations or hands on training;
Communicate to and foster a productive working relationship with other organizations and units working on the same installations;
Provide leadership regarding environmental issues and standards;
Must be able to work independently and without direct supervisory oversight.
